It doesn't happen often, but it still happens...
Fake PSA Slabs?!
The form that GameStop uses to recognize fakes when people want to sell PSA slabs to the store was recently announced. However, these tips are also useful for us!
Let's list them below!
1. Injection Spot
If the bottom of the bib is smooth and you don't feel a dot, the bib is fake .
2. Ticks
Hold the bib at an angle and look from the side. There should be 3 small lines on the left and right in the case. If not, the bib is fake ! (Note! These lines are hard to find if you've never seen them before!)
3.Part Numbers
The bottom right of the bib should read 11, 21 or 27. If there is no number here, the bib is fake !
4. Blacklight Test
Shine a black light on the front of the label, if it lights up white the label is fake . On the back, six PSA logos should light up with a black light around the visible PSA logo.
5. Lighthouse Label
Take a closer look at the label. PSA or CLCT NASDAQ must be read in the background of the white area. If the label has a plain white background, it is Fake !
6. Rails
In the case, the card is held in place by four visible and thicker bars. If these are absent, the bib is fake !
7. 90 degree angles
The empty spaces where the corners of the card are located should have a tight 90 degree angle. If these are round or blurred in the case, the case is fake !
8. Tampering
Check that all edges are smooth, nothing is broken and there are no traces of damage. A case is melted and pressed, if you can pry it open it means it is most definitely fake !
AND MUCH MORE IMPORTANT!
Use common sense... Is a card too cheap to be true, does the label look strange, do you not completely trust the seller... sometimes it is smarter to pass up a great deal.
