Recognizing Fake PSA Bibs!

It doesn't happen often, but it still happens...

Fake PSA Slabs?!

Recently, the form that GameStop uses to identify fakes when people try to sell PSA slabs to the store was made public. However, these tips are also useful for us!

Let's list them!

1. Injection Spot

If the bottom of the bib is smooth and you don't feel a point, the bib is fake .

2. Ticks

Hold the slab at an angle and look from the side. There should be 3 small lines on the left and right in the case. If not, the slab is fake ! (Note! These lines are hard to find if you've never seen them before!)

3. Part Numbers

At the bottom right of the Slab there should be 11, 21 or 27. If there is no number here the slab is fake !

4. Blacklight Test

Shine a blacklight on the front of the label, if it lights up white the label is fake . On the back six PSA logos should light up with a blacklight around the visible PSA logo.

5. Lighthouse Label

Look at the label closely. The background of the white area should read PSA or CLCT NASDAQ . If the label has a plain white background, it is Fake !

6. Rails

In the case the card is held in place by four visible and thicker bars. If these are missing the slab is fake !

7. 90 Degrees angles

The empty spaces where the corners of the card are located should have a tight 90 degree angle. If these are round or blurry in the case, the case is fake !

8. Tampering

Check that all edges are smooth, nothing is broken and there are no signs of damage. A case is melted and pressed shut, if you can pry it open it means it is most definitely fake !

AND MUCH MORE IMPORTANT!

Use common sense... If a card is too cheap to be true, the label looks funny, you don't quite trust the seller... sometimes it's smarter to pass up a great deal.
